Have no fear of forgetting
Rather, dread remembering
Remembering brings familiarity
Familiarity makes you flee

Sick.

It's a bad time to fall sick, but fallen sick I have. Let me not go into the details of my sickness, though the wise doctor did relent and prescribed me some antibiotics. The highlight of the day - apart from bumping into Voon, Andrew and Siew Li at the Campus centre - had to be what the doctor prescribed me for my painful throat:
- Cepacaine, an anasethetic gargle.
- Ice.
- Ice-cream.
So, who said you shouldn't take ice-cream when you're down with the flu? Not even the doctors!!

The end of H&N.

I'm at the tail-end of my Head & Neck rotation (that's neurology/neurosurgery/ endocrinology/opthalmology/ENT/stroke all in one), and what a whirlwind it has been! Surely the whole list of diseases involving the head and neck can't be covered in 5 wks, you say? And to that I would nod my head furiously in agreement. It seemed like too much to observe/digest/ruminate about in 5 wks. That picture above, in particular, is to remind me to go watch a few neurosurgeries if I can. Hopefully cranial stuff, and not more laminectomy or microdisectomy or kyphoplasty or spinal fusion surgery. I didn't even go to stroke clinic to see how these patients were followed-up, even though I did see some stroke patients up in the wards. In fact, there's probably a whole lot more things I didn't do.
But it was definitely a good run.
And now I'm back to a slack rotation. Well, that means I'd have more time to do revision. Which is very important considering that EOYs are in 5 wks with hardly any time to spare. Buck up, Xin Yi! Study your ass off and then you can go bask in the great outdoors!!
I'm really looking forward to the whitewater rafting trip I've got lined up at the end of this all.

The love I'm getting.

Have you ever gotten a random, single-worded letter? I have!!
(This was quite some time ago, but I just got reminded of it again ;p)

GeishaAmerican soldiers returning home after WWII brought with them many misconceptions about traditional Japanese geisha culture, including the now widespread Western belief that geisha are prostitutes. In fact, geisha are highly-trained entertainers who are skilled in the arts of singing, dancing, conversing, and playing traditional instruments. Geisha are known for their recognizable white makeup, elaborate dress, and complex hairstyles. How must geisha sleep in order to protect these hairdos? More... Discuss |
