The cat's out of the bag.
Mel's birthday was one of the best, but one of the most troublesome birthdays many of us had EVER a part to play in ;p Let's list down the multitude of things that POTENTIALLY COULD and DID go wrong ;pp
- The Majong Restaurant we were eyeing to celebrate her birthday at (and the birthday girl herself would know why this was so appropriate) was FULLY BOOKED OUT. Some big shot had swept the entire seatings for a big bash! Even Kel's pleads and attempts at bribing the manager did not work out.
- River Kwai (a fantastic Thai restaurant with one hat to boot) had their 'First Monday of the month Buffet' and was unavailable too.
- The present we intended to get for her was sold out at MSY, an electronic store which had the best deals. This was after waiting the whole wkend to get it. (And here Mel I must apologize for deserting you that day we went impromptu grocery shopping.. I HAD to go to Officeworks on a very SECRET scouting mission!!)
- The cake.. hey, what on earth can happen to a cake that had arrived safely at the restaurant and was tucked neatly in the restaurant's fridge? But something DID happen TO THE CAKE ;pp
And so here I pronouce the 3rd of Nov as the most paradoxically memorable day I've had all year :) Well, it started off VERY memorable indeed, anyway :)) To cast an even spiel on the events of the day, I must say many things did turn out very well.
- The place we finally booked for dinner was AWESOME :) The bill was awesome too, but that's besides the point. It would be somewhere I'd want to bring my family to have a good meal. My tumtum was immensely appreciative.
- Turn-up was great! I fully enjoyed the company, all round.
- Hooray for the lack of cameras!! It was all pre-planned and telepathized amongst us cunning creatures so that the birthday girl could put her present to good use right away!! ;p
- Most importantly, the birthday girl was all blushy but I'm sure she enjoyed herself tremendously and was very touched!! I must admit I rarely seen anyone this happy! :))
- And just because the number of ups must exceed the number of downs.. everyone was happy that the birthday girl was happy! Well, I'm generalizing. But I was definitely happy!
